Southern Gospel Music Jubilee

at Tinkerbelle Glen!

What a beautiful day the Lord gave us yesterday at Tinkerbelle Glen here in Springfield, Missouri, for our first ever "Southern Gospel Music Jubilee" and what a time we had as we raised our voices to the sky and sang praises to the Lord God, our Maker.  It was a time of uplifting the name of the Lord under His beautiful canopy of blue skies!  We sang, "Tell your Troubles About Jesus," "Shine Down your Light on Me," "Holy of Holies," and "Fear Not my Child."  Richard sang, "I Can't Live a Day without You" and the "First Trumpet Sound to Glory."  Molly sang, "The Lord's Prayer" and "The Anchor Holds." (to only mention a few)  God really moved through these songs.  The open field made a natural amphitheater and was a great place for such an event to take place.  Gordon Douglas, Randy and Andrea Cheek worked very hard to have everything at Tinkerbelle Glen prepared for such an event.  We jumped in and got Richard's PA set up on the open flatbed stage.  As we sang, we could be heard there on the farm and throughout the surrounding area.  We believe that many lives were touched as we shared our hearts through singing and preaching of the Word. If you didn't get to make it, you missed a real blessing and you will want to make sure you make our next event.  Richard was asked to share from the Word of God out of his heart.  He took a text from II Samuel, Chapter 21 and here's just a little bit of it.  When there was a famine in the days of King David for three years and David inquired of the Lord why there was a famine, the Lord answered him and said, "it is because of Saul and his bloodthirsty house and because he killed the Gibeonites."  Now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel but were of the remnant of the Amorites which the children of Israel had sworn protection to them,  But Saul decided to kill them in his zeal and said he was doing it for the children of Israel and Judah.  And the Lord told David that he had to give to the Gibeonites whatever they asked to make atonement and that the blessings and inheritance of the Lord would be upon them again.  The Gibeonites asked a terrible price.  They said we don't want you to give us silver or gold from Saul or his house nor shall any man be killed in Israel for us.  David, the king, said whatsoever you say I will do it for you.  And the Gibeonites answered King David and said for the man who consumed us and plotted against us that we should be destroyed from in the territories of Israel,  let seven young men from Saul's descendants be delivered to us and we will hang them before the Lord in Gibeah of Saul.  And King David sadly answered, I will give them so that the blessings of Israel may be restored again.  And David delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites.  And they hanged them on a hill before the Lord.  So they fell all seven together and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.  But that's not the end of the story.  One of Saul's wives named Rizpah was told that two of the young men hung were her sons so she ran to the hill of Gibeah and took sackcloth and spread it for herself on the rock from the beginning of the harvest until the late rains poured which was around six months.  And she did not allow the birds of the air to eat upon them by day nor the beast of the field to eat upon them by night.  And David was told what Mama Rizpah had done.  In bringing this touching story together, Richard shared how Saul and Israel represents the church who today makes selfish decisions, not considering how it literally effects our young people and sacrifices them back to the devouring birds and beasts of this world.   We are supposed to be a beacon of light that overshadows and reveals the true darkness of this world instead of trying to entertain our young people and bringing the world's entertainment into the church and keeping the youth's worldly appetite feed with the darkness of this world.   Our churches are not standing up, clearly teaching what is of this world and what is of God.  It's the Word of God that changes lives and brings God's blessings and inheritance, not Halloween parties, playing the most popular movie to hit the screen, or watching football, basketball or hockey games in the church.  That sends a confusing message to our youth.  It doesn't bring them out of this world but keeps them in the world as they go to our churches with no saved souls, changed hearts or lives lived in the kingdom of God.  We really need Mama and Papa Rizpah's to stand up in our churches and be determined to keep satanic birds and beasts out of our churches that are trying to devour our young people and ,please, Mama and Papa Rizpah's, keep standing up and keep saying it until your pastors and leaders pray through to leading the flock that God has given them into the uncompromising holy truth until they can see the line drawn between the world's darkness and God's light.  What a message that Richard brought, touching each of our lives.

After the message, we closed out with powerful songs such as, "I Will Praise the Lord," and "It's the Power of the Lord."

Randy played his guitar and Andrea played her violin as they sang several country, blue grass flavored, uplifting songs.  What a wonderful treat!  The Bible tells us that as we lift up the name of Jesus that He draws all men unto Him.  We are living in a day when Satan is working overtime to destroy everyone that he can.  He uses his weapons of fear, discouragement and so many other things to come in and kill, steal and destroy people's lives and families.  We thank God for the opportunity that we had to share His message of hope and love through song and Word and that Jesus will give life more abundantly when we receive this message.  We had a great time and we plan to do this again in the near future.  We will let you know the date and time.  We would love for you to comeand be a part of our next "Southern Gospel Music Jubilee."

Richard and Molly and WCF Ministries Association would like to thank Gordon, Randy and Andrea for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of their lives at Tinkerbelle Glen.  We appreciate Gordon's desire to use his place to uplift and bless people through these kinds of activities.
